is an Iraqi Born artist who received her MFA degree in Fine Art from Claremont Graduate School in1990. Currently, she is exhibiting her work locally, nationally, and internationally.
Hanaa Al-Wardi’s work includes, political, social, environmental, and organic issues which have very strong visual impact and vibrant colors. She develops her vision through a variety of media including metal, wood, plaster, ceramic, and paint on canvas. Primarily a studio artist, the colors and the brushstrokes she used are poetic and loose, while at the same time very energetic and esthetically pleasing.
Hanaa Al-Wardi has also completed artwork on commission for public and commercial projects throughout Los Angeles. Her work is permanently on exhibit at the HA Gallery in Alhambra, California. Hanaa Al-Wardi is also the founder of MOCAA (The Museum of Contemporary Arab Art), which was established in the year 2000.
